A Face Behind the Face

Hello and welcome,

I’ve a very good friend in Paris, although we have never met face to face.

A very lovable lady, a bilingual poet, author, editor and a well-known journalist. A month back, she was disappointed on learning that I have absolutely no social media presence. She was right.

Being a very private person, I feel it an intrusion to my privacy (without offending those who extensively use Facebook, Instagram and other platforms). However, she reminded me that in the age of AI and fast changing technological advances it is not something that I should be proud of.

I believe her because I strongly feel that the good that is in the world is for me irrespective of their geographical, socio-cultural and the damn religious and language barrier.

I also believe that when you live in the future, in your dreams, meanwhile, the world goes on without you.

I recall meetings with the few of my readers who looked at me in a very suspicious way when I introduced myself. The effort they unwittingly took to reconcile the two personalities – the two faces – was quite visible.

I certainly would not like to put them in such a situation.

And this is the reason why I am here and will certainly be here, hopefully every day, to share my thoughts, reflecting on the life and literature – politics, of course, aggressively being a part of our lives will not be excluded.

What more should I say?
