The tragedy queen, Meena Kumari, has composed some beautiful poetry. 

Here's one I'm sharing.

लम्हा लम्हा जीना क्या और लम्हा लम्हा मरना क्या 

साथ तुम्हारा, साथ हमारे अगर रहे तो कहना क्या

हम-तुम दोनों एक छंद हैं शायर जिसको भूल गया 

बोले, बाद इस छंद के अब तो कहना क्या, न कहना क्या

बूंद-बूंद सांसें आती हैं, बूंद-बूंद एक राह बनी 

घूंट-घूंट की बात में हमको, कहना क्या न कहना क्या

And here in translation –

What is the point of living moment by moment 

and dying moment by moment?

If you are with me, what can I say?

You and I are a verse the poet has forgotten.

After this verse, he said, what can I say, what can I not say?

Breaths come drop by drop, each drop forming a path.

In our sip by sip, what can I say, what can I not say?
