166. I never see the Sun
As Iran faces turmoil, I recalled Jalaluddin Rumi, a key figure in Sufism whose ideas and works significantly influence Persian literature and mystic poetry.
Rumi, the Persian poet from the 13th century, is beloved by us.
Read here one of his short poems -
“I said to the night,
“If you are in love with the moon,
it is because you never stay for long.”
The night turned to me and said,
“It is not my fault. I never see the Sun,
how can I know that love is endless?”
