201. Epitaph on a Pessimist
My guru, Khushwant Singh, had memorized dozens of Epitaphs, which he sometimes shared.
Who else could have written the best I can say? Thomas Hardy. It is titled “Epitaph on a Pessimist.”
Here it is –

I've lived without a dame all my life
And wish to God
My dad had done the same.
