10. Sleep is God. Go Worship
Ernest Hemingway said, “I love sleep. My life has the tendency to fall apart when I'm awake, you know?”
I can’t say exactly the same about myself but I agree with the first part - I too love sleep, in fact, we all love sleep.
Unlike many I've never envied people who sleep easily because I was myself in the same category.
But now sleep eludes me almost every day. It is happening past eight months. The month I lost someone. It so has happened that my sleeping cycle has gone haywire. No more.
It is really difficult to be on the bed with open eyes.
And what can you do at that hour?
I also cannot agree with John Milton who in Paradise Lost says, “What hath night to do with sleep?”
However, I fully agree with Thomas Caulfield Irwin -
“Awake him not, oh, dear one, till ‘tis day;
To be alive, and suffer not, is sleep.”
So let us be alive without suffering for a few hours.
