25. Israel is murdering the messengers

Another four journalists were killed by Israeli strikes on August 25, 2025.

So, a total of ten journalists has been killed in just a fortnight.

The strikes today on al-Nasser hospital in southern Gaza killed Hussam al-Masri, who worked for Reuters, a well-known face Mariam Abu Dagga, who worked for the Associated Press since the Gaza war began, the Al Jazeera journalist Mohammed Salam, and Moaz Abu Taha from NBC.

Another Reuters journalist, Hatem Khaled, was also wounded in the attack.

According to the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), at least 192 journalists have been killed since 7 October 2023, more than the number who died globally in the previous three years.

The CPJ said that Israel’s killing of journalists in Gaza was a deliberate and systematic attempt to cover up Israel’s actions and it has a longstanding, documented pattern of accusing journalists of being terrorists without providing any credible proof.

Thats murder. Plain and simple.

CPJ claims that Palestinian journalists are being threatened, directly targeted and murdered by Israeli forces, and are arbitrarily detained and tortured in retaliation for their work.

By silencing the press–those who document and bear witness–Israel is silencing the war.

CPJ has once again called on the international community to: “take immediate action to end these atrocities; grant international media independent access to Gaza to be able to investigate and report what is happening without fear of censorship or assassination; and hold Israel to account.”

The Indian media is silent. And Lal Krishna Advani again comes to our mind.

Where are our Press Club secretaries who love to issue press releases on even a flimsy ground?

At least condemn these incidents.
