33. Mass Deportation, Marketed as Development
So, Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been successful in convincing Trump that ‘Gaza is for sale, come gab it!’ forgetting that Gaza is part of the greater Palestinian homeland.
Or was it vice versa?
The Washington Post has published a leaked 38-page prospectus for the “Gaza Riviera” plan, which would involve the forced displacement of Gaza’s entire population of 2 million people and put the territory into a US trusteeship. This is in accordance with the details of plans Trump announced sometime back, thereby confirming that USA has no objection to the large-scale ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian population.
Insanely named the ‘Gaza Reconstitution, Economic Acceleration and Transformation Trust’ what the plan points to is the Israel’s determination that there should be no Palestinian sovereignty or self-determination in Gaza.
The scheme, requiring no US funding is intended to be funded by investors to the tune of $100bn, and it envisages a bustling port city with eight leafy high-tech megacities.
The goal would be to transform the territory into a tourism magnet and high-tech hub.
German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul has urged in clear wording that Germany opposes any Israeli plans for new settlements or annexations that would violate international law.
In fact, this is a blueprint for mass deportation, marketed as development.
The Killing Field
As on today September 2, 2025, at least 63,557 Palestinians have been killed in Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza since October 2023, also taking the number of injuries to 160,660.
The total number of Palestinians killed while seeking aid is 2,294, with over 16,839 others wounded.
The famine-linked death toll since October 2023 is 348 people, including 127 children.
According to the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), the total number of journalists and media workers killed since October 2023 is at least 189.
Despite growing global condemnation and concerns over breaches of international law, Israel is continuing its military assault. Under international law, journalists should be protected as civilians.
More than 257 international media outlets in over 50 countries have demanded an end to Israeli impunity for crimes committed against them.
Across the globe in the eyes of people, including its friendly countries, Israel’s reputation due to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza is diminishing very fast. The reputational damage caused by its actions cannot be controlled easily. That will take many many years.
Israeli government is the culprit for the crisis developing as a man-made famine in the 21st century.
The International Association of Genocide Scholars, the world’s leading body of experts on genocide studies, said that Israel’s actions in Gaza meet the legal definition of genocide under the 1948 UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.
Israel’s policies and actions in Gaza constitute war crimes and crimes against humanity as defined in international humanitarian law and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.
In Tel Aviv also hostage families and their supporters are out on the road and protesting, torching tires, blocking highways and clamouring for a ceasefire that would free hostages still in Gaza. No one is now convinced by Netanyahu’s appeal that the offensive is the best way to weaken Hamas and return hostages.
There is a collective voice – “We could have saved hostages, but the prime minister chose, again and again, to sacrifice civilians for the sake of his rule.”
Hamas captured 251 hostages on October 7, 2023. Fifty remain in Gaza, but it is believed that only around 20 are still alive.
Even the Israeli soldiers are fed up of this nonsense and the political cynicism of Benjamin Netanyahu.
The latest is - an Israeli soldier committed suicide inside a military base in northern Israel, raising the number of suicides among troops this year to 18, according to Israeli media.
Israel’s right to self-defense does not justify the indiscriminate destruction of civilian infrastructures or the collective punishment of an entire population. That is foolish.
An immediate and lasting ceasefire in Gaza, the release of all hostages, and unrestricted humanitarian access should be the top priority.
Only the Nobel Prize seeker Donald Trump could have stopped this but as we see he himself is very much a big player in this killing field.
He is not doing what was expected of him as the president rather he is still busy doing what he has done all his life – business, business and more business – dreaming to start the construction works on yet another Golf Course in the Gaza Riviera.
Let us kill his dream, by all means.
