103. The world is really a strange place

A few years back, Catarina Migliorini, a Brazilian physical education student, auctioned her virginity online to a Japanese man named Natsu for $780,000. 

The Japanese man faced intense competition from an Indian man, Rudra Chatterjee, and two Americans. 

Natsu, the Japanese man, beat out strong bids from American bidders Jack Miller and Jack Right, as well as Indian big-spender Rudra Chatterjee, to secure a date with 20-year-old Catarina Migliorini. 

Migliorini claimed she was not a prostitute because she was selling her body only once. 

In fact, a film company followed her for a documentary called Virgins Wanted; however, she later claimed she was conned by the filmmaker, never received payment, and the deal was never finished. 

She said she was supposed to meet the mysterious Natsu at an Australian restaurant — but he didn’t match the description. 

After being featured by many media outlets across multiple countries, she decided to auction off her virginity again to try her luck next time. 

I was surprised by her confidence when she mentioned she became a celebrity in Brazil and appeared in the Argentine edition of Playboy.

This time, she was aiming to get a jaw-dropping $1.5 million for a night of passion. 

I don't know what happened, as I lost track of the news.

Not surprisingly, a man featured in a documentary I watched said he earned $3,000 from selling his virginity.
