251. When the Congress Party talks about its Regent
I don't understand why Congress takes pride in harming India's reputation. It repeatedly signals to the world that India is subordinate to Pakistan and China, lacks the resolve to face adversaries, and that the prime minister is feeble and unassertive, trembling before Donald Trump. The list of criticisms is lengthy.
The party forgets that, unlike its slogan “India is Indira and Indira is India,” the prime minister has never asserted that “Narendra Modi is India and that India is Narendra Modi”. In criticizing Modi, Congress ends up ridiculing the country.
To me, Congress is now dead weight, and while in power, it has only demoralized citizens and relentlessly exploited the country. Just check most petrol stations, LPG licensees, and anything remotely related to the quota permit system – these are controlled by Congress members and their families.
The party is operated by a family, consisting of traditional congressmen whose father and grandfather were part of the same gang that looted the country. Therefore, they are obligated to show their loyalty to the family that enabled their rise. Essentially, it operates as a large family asserting itself as a political party.
Its leaders only speak nonsense, which has become so evident that no one finds their spokespeople’s ranting credible.
But today I saw on a news channel the party’s tweet for today after the announcement of a two-week ceasefire in the West Asia conflict. It made me laugh.
Here it is – “The conflict had started just two days after Prime Minister Modi had completed his much-trumpeted visit to Israel, a visit that diminished India’s global stature and standing. Mr. Modi had said nothing about Israel’s genocide in Gaza and its aggressively expansionist policies in the occupied West Bank.”
Read on because the funniest part is yet to come,
“The role played by Pakistan in bringing about the ceasefire is a severe setback to both the substance and style of Mr. Modi’s highly personalised diplomacy. The policy to isolate Pakistan for its continuing support to terrorism in J&K and to convince the world that it is a failed state has clearly not succeeded, unlike what Dr. Manmohan Singh accomplished after the Mumbai terror attacks.”
And the last para -
“The External Affairs Minister dismissed Pakistan as a dalal. But now the self-styled Vishwaguru stands thoroughly exposed, his self-declared 56-inch chest shrunk and shriveled.”
Congress wanted India to mediate and not give Pakistan this chance. How many did it do when in power? Mediator and broker are the same thing. And the role is played by someone who needs their share in the negotiations and afterward. India needs neither.
Why did I laugh?
I laughed at the mention of Manmohan Singh, who, in my opinion (which is substantiated by the pages of history), was certainly not the prime minister of India but merely a regent of the family. Even the literal meaning of the word asserts, for in this case, a person was appointed to govern the country because the monarch was incapacitated by the constitution.
The party spokesman says, “Manmohan Singh accomplished after the Mumbai terror attacks.” What he actually accomplished should have been explained by the spokesman.
His accomplishment was only to convey to the world that India is a country without backbone, a country that lacks the willpower, a country that cannot look its enemies in the eye.
The spokesman should note that the former Union Home Minister stated in September 2025 that the decision against military retaliation for the 2008 Mumbai 26/11 attacks was influenced by significant international pressure. He mentioned that then-US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice advised India not to initiate a war.
And when the spokesman says that he was able to convince the world that Pakistan is a failed state, then the gentleman must know that there was no need to convince. It was a fact the world knew well.
Congress has been consistently portraying itself as a traitor to India and frequently seeks opportunities to praise Pakistan over India. It rarely misses such chances. The party members will keep spouting such nonsense as long as it is run by the family. And remember, the party will die its own death if it becomes detached from the family.
Today again I will share my earlier advice –
The Indian government should buy a nice, cozy home in Sicily, Italy, and then, in a chartered plane, carry each and every member of this family, along with their relatives, even those who are only remotely related, and even their dogs and cats, if they have any, and move them into that house. All at the taxpayers' expense, and I don’t think many Indian taxpayers will object to this proposal.
